ATOR Analytical Service (ATOR) made an exclusive research with the purpose to define where and how the citizens of the Far East of Russia spend their holidays.
The majority of the tourists of the region choose China for the holidays. The demand is almost similar in summer and winter season: more than 70% of total volume of sold tours in winter and about 60% in summer.
252 agencies from 12 cities, including Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk on Amur and others took part in the survey.
Interestingly enough looks the rating of the most popular winter destinations in the regions of the Far East of Russia. After the leading China, goes Thailand (7% of total volume of demand) and Egypt (4.5%). TOP 10 list of the most popular destinations includes Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan.
ТОР 10 list of summer season includes China (66.3%), Turkey (6.9%), Spain (4.5%), Thailand (3.1%), Italy (3%), Egypt (3%), Bulgaria (2.5%), answer “Europe” received 1.4%, then goes France (1.3%) and Greece (1.1%).
Almost a quarter of the respondents (22%) sell the tours with 5* accommodation, about 37% of the agents sell the tours with 4* accommodation and 40% of the clients of the region choose the hotels of 3* category. Budget tours with 2* accommodation are not in great demand in this region (not more than 1.5%).
It was found out during the survey that the majority of the tourists preferred to stay in China on the average for 7 days and spent not more than 1000 USD per person. More than one third of the clients chose the tours for the price from 1000 to 3000 USD. And more than 6% were ready to spend more than 3000 USD for their holidays in China.
