This winter’s demos across Russia showed that the opposition might lack a unified program, yet it does not lack creativity.
Moscow is hosting a display of protest posters and objects from the demos that have already become classics through social networks and photo reports.
A joint project between OpenSpace online portal and Artplay Design Center, the exhibition follows the evolution of the protests as individuals took their artistry and sense of humor to the streets. Two levels in the Artplay exhibition hall show dozens of works from both ordinary people and professional artists.
Posters, costumes, witty drawings, caricatures and unusual slogans – all of these not only displayed people’s rage against officials such as PM Vladimir Putin and Election Commission head Vladimir Churov. Many of them are truly original artwork.
The display of the “best of this winter’s protest movement” will be on through February 26.
